1. Tower of London

The first time I went to London I was with my parents and they had us booked solid with tours and other activities that I did not think I would enjoy. The Tower of London was one of those experiences that I did not see myself enjoying, however seven years later, it is still one of the most memorable things I have done on any of my travels. There is just so much to se here that you need the best part of a day to see it all. My favourite exhibition of all that are housed at the Tower of London is of course the Crown Jewels.

2. The London Dungeons

This tour was by far one of the most fun and exciting of all the tours we did on our trip. Through this experience you learn about some of London's dark history such as the Black Plague, the Great Fire of London, Fleet Street Pie Shop, Sweeney Todd, Jack the Ripper and more though interactive and scary shows. If you don't enjoy audience participation, this tour is definitely not for you. If that doesn't bother you however, this is a must do. My brother was 10 years old at the time and he really enjoyed but its up to you to assess your own situations as to wether it is going to be suitable for your child.

3. Day trip to Bath, Stonehenge and Windsor Castle.

This day, although jam packed was exciting to say the least. In Bath you are able to explore one of the largest religious spas and natural hot springs from the ancient world, the Roman Baths. After that you head to Stonehenge and see the phenomenon for yourself followed by a trip to Windsor Castle where you can walk through the grounds and see some of the most amazing British royal history including the tombs where some previous Monarch's are now located . You can even visit St George's Chappell where Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle were married. I definitely recommend trying to see a Changing of the Guard ceremony as it is an unforgettable experience.

4. Warwick Castle

This was without a doubt one of the best days I had on my first trip to the UK. Just a reasonable drive out of London, Warwick Castle has something for everyone. With absolutely stunning views of both the interior and exterior grounds from the towers, amazing exhibits, exciting shows and more, Warwick Castle is a must do. I have travelled through many countries, particularly in Europe and this is by far the most interesting tourist castle that I have seen. My highlight for the day would have to be the trebuchet show where I saw a giant ball of fire get catapulted through the sky.

5. Westminster Abbey

At the time of my first trip to London, I was particularly excited to see Westminster Abbey as I have always been a huge fan of the Royal family and in particular, Prince William and Prince Harry. Prince William and Kate Middleton were married at Westminster Abbey. Although the line for entry was quite lengthy, it was definitely worth the wait. It is the final resting place of 17 monarchs and other royal figures. I found it extremely interesting to see the differences in each memorial. It is also home to some beautiful artwork, sculptures and other works of art and artefacts as well as the grave of the "Unknown Warrior".
