Although it seems that I may have dropped off the face of the Earth, I'm finally back for another addition of my "monthly" reads, although this list is a little bit more of a yearly reads since I haven't given any recommendations for quite a while now.

Over the last few months I read:

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren. I absolutely adored this novel! Following the traditional enemies to lovers trope, this pretty stereotypical novel is at first a bit eye-rolling, however after I continued to read, the more I fell in love with Olive and Ethan and their unoriginal, yet completely unique story. I also must point out that I absolutely love Christina Lauren's writing and intellectual story lines that make the reader feel like they aren't just reading a sappy romance novel, but learning something as well.

The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren. Yet another amazing read from Christina Lauren. This is another intellectual and interesting love story that I don't think I have ever come across. I highly recommend this story.

The Duke and I by Julia Quinn. My mum actually suggested this series to me after she saw that it was being made into a series (Bridgerton, 2020). Mum said that she loved this series and she couldn't wait for the series to come out, so I thought I'd better catch up on the novels so I'm up to date for the series. I absolutely loved this novel and I loved the Netflix series. I can't wait to see the next season which is based on the second novel of the series.

Honeybee by Craig Silvey. This novel is no less than amazing. I have always been a fan of Craig Silvey, and my favourite book of all time is his masterpiece Jasper Jones. The story of Honeybee is a perfect story of LGBT+ exploration and coming of age story of a young Australian boy navigating a troubled upbringing and battling his own understanding of life and himself as a person. This story is so powerful and was a true rollercoaster of emotion. I truly recommend this novel as well as anything else that Craig Silvey has ever written. *A side note... this novel was particularly interesting to me because it is set in my own home town of Perth, Western Australia!

Down to Puck by Sylvia Pierce. The second novel in the Buffalo Tempest Hockey series, this story did not disappoint. This best friends to lovers novel is funny, romantic and all out gorgeous. I think it is clear that I love ice hockey themed romance stories.
